EducationQuest Offers Opportunity for Students Through ‘Do the FAFSA Nebraska’ Scholarship
Nebraska high school seniors have a new opportunity to ease the cost of college through the “Do the FAFSA Nebraska” Scholarship, an initiative from the EducationQuest Foundation aimed at increasing FAFSA completion and expanding access to higher education.
The program will award 60 one-time $1,000 scholarships to students who complete the 2026–27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit the required documentation. The funds, sent directly to the student’s Nebraska college or university, can be used toward tuition, books, living expenses, or transportation.
EducationQuest officials say the goal is simple: remove barriers and encourage more students to take the first critical step in receiving financial aid. Because winners are selected through a random drawing, all qualifying seniors, regardless of GPA or background, have an equal chance.
The scholarship will be awarded in two rounds, in December and April, giving early and later applicants multiple opportunities.
For many students, the FAFSA is the key that unlocks additional grants and financial aid. This scholarship, leaders say, is one more way to help Nebraska students start college with confidence and support.
