Teeing Up for Change: 2025 “Somos One Part II” Golf Fundraiser
For nearly two decades, the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation (BSF) has been committed to breaking down financial barriers for Latino youth pursuing higher education and trade careers in Nebraska. Since our founding in 2005, BSF has awarded over $474,000 in scholarships to more than 370 Metro Omaha college students, many of whom would not have been able to afford the high costs of a college education or trade school without this support.
In 2024, we set a bold goal of doubling our scholarships from 15 to 30 in celebration of Casa de la Cultura’s 105th Cinco de Mayo Festival, aiming to award $105,000 in scholarships. Thanks to our community’s incredible generosity, we didn’t just meet that goal, we surpassed it. This year, we are on track to support 52 scholars with a record-breaking $140,000 in awards.
And we’re not stopping there.
