Scholarship
The Barrientos Scholarship Foundation was established in 2005 to assist Nebraska students
with Latino heritage in continuing their education and in pursuing their career goals.
 The Barrientos family, with roots in Omaha, Nebraska that date back to the 1920's, have
long been known for their love of the arts, music and community involvement. Because of that love and commitment to continue that legacy,
this scholarship fund was created.

Recognition
 The Latino Heritage Awards Banquet is celebrated annually during
National Hispanic Heritage Month and serves as the primary fundraiser for the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation.
In addition to recognizing scholarship recipients, local Latino leaders are honored for their contributions to the community.
The banquet features live entertainment, authentic Latino food and beverages, and a festive community spirit.
