Silent Auction

Our banquet guests have the opportunity to participate in our Silent Auction fundraiser.

What is a Silent Auction?

Goods and services are donated to the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation by local individuals, businesses, and organizations. The donated items are then auctioned off to the highest bidder, with all proceeds going directly to the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation.

Why is it called a Silent Auction and how does it work?

Unlike a traditional auction, the donated items are put on display during the banquet reception each with an individual bid sheet. The bid sheet list the donor, the value of the item, an opening bid (which is generally at a fairly signficant discount off the value of the item), and a place for a guest to write in their bid. Throughout the evening, guests can bid on their favorite items at their own pace.

An announcement will be made prior to the auction closing giving each bidder a chance to place their final bids on their favorite items.

Auction winners are expected to pay for their items prior to leaving for the evening. Cash, checks, credit cards will be accepted the evening of the banquet!

How can you help?

Donate an item! If you are a retailer, artist, restaurant owner, or consumer service provider, we could use your donation! Don't fit into one of those categories? Cash donations are also accepted that will be applied toward the purchase of items to round out our selection.

What's in it for you?

  • Recognition on this web site as well as recognition the evening of the banquet.
  • Your donation is tax deductible.
  • Satisfaction of knowing you're helping our cause.
