The Barrientos Scholarship Foundation (BSF) was established in 2005 to assist young Latinos in pursuit of higher education. With the
cost of college education increasing every year, it becomes essential that financial aid is made available to assist our youth
in meeting their educational needs.
The Barrientos Scholarship is available to all students in the State of Nebraska with Latino backgrounds who are continuing their education
in the arts and general education.

Scholarship Programs
Scholarships are awarded in the following three categories:
Arts
For applicants with a strong interest in pursuing higher education in the arts - music, dance, theater, visual arts.
Medical
For applicants with a strong interest in pursuing higher education in the health industry - nursing, therapy, research, or other medical practices.
Education
For applicants with a strong interest in pursuing higher education in the education industry as a teacher, counselor, or administrator.
General
For applicants pursuing other areas of interest.
Awards
The amount of each award ranges from $250 - $500 and the number of scholarships awarded varies annually.
